Murray Aviation, founded by Charles Murray, began in Weaver, Alabama at McMinn airport (K25A) in the late 1960's offering flight training for private, commercial, flight instructor airplane, instrument, instrument flight instructor, multi-engine land, single engine sea, and airline transport ratings.

A larger facility was sought and the Jacksonville, Alabama airport was constructed and became the new home of Murray Aviation. The airport has since been closed and now is the location of Jacksonville High School, but the eastern portion of the runway is still visible.

Murray Aviation is now based in North Central Florida. Pictures from Weaver and Jacksonville airport are relatively scarce and if you were affiliated with either of these airports in the 60’s, 70’s, or 80’s and have nostalgic photos or stories please share and I will upload to this site.
